ZiggyHost Review
I started using ziggyhost to host an article directory. I chose them because they were the cheapest host that I could find with their $9.95 a year hosting plan. My account was setup very fast with no additional fee. I was at first confused by their c panel because I had been using godaddy’s before but I got to know it and now favor it. The hosting they provided was I believe 3 gigs bandwidth per month and 100 megabytes disk space. Not bad for $9.95 a year. Everything was fine for the first couple months, I began to like their webhosting so much that I moved my websites over that had been hosted on godaddy’s free hosting plan. They were all relatively small websites so all five of them could fit on the 100 megabyte disk space.
The first problem happened when the mysql stopped working for a couple of days and my article directory with hundreds of pages was reduced to a couple sentence error message. I went to look at the ziggyhost’s website but that was down also with a similar error message to mine. I had no idea what had happened and was never emailed or anything. This lasted for about 2 days and then the website came back on. Meanwhile my other websites were fine because they didn’t use mysql. I thought this was a fluke thing and didn’t email them or anything. But then it happened again. In between these occurance I had acquired a few web directories and moved them over to ziggyhost. This time the outage lasted for almost 3 days. The 2 directories I had just made and my article directory were all down and same with the ziggyhost website. No email no anything. I tried to email them but the messages all got returned to me. Once again my non mysql websites were all fine during this. After this I emailed them and was told that the mysql server had crashed or something along those lines. It has been about 4 months since the last crash and it has not happened again
The bottom line is that this hosting was dirt cheap and had very little downtime aside from the mysql crashes. I would recommend this hosting for anybody working on a budget that does not use mysql.
